A few days ago, Huntsman introduced a new type of high-temperature resistant titanium dioxide pigment, which can still maintain good coloring performance at high temperatures.
According to the company, Tioxide® TR48 white pigment can be used in the production of polyolefin color masterbatches, BOPP films and engineering compounds. The product is easy to disperse, has high color reproduction, and can be used in formulations with low VOC levels. Typical areas of application include advanced and general-purpose packaging systems as well as plastic accessories for consumer electronics and the automotive industry.
Founded in 1970, Huntsman is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. It is one of the global manufacturers and marketers of specialty chemicals. Its product applications include chemicals, plastics, automobiles, aviation, textiles, footwear, Paints & Coatings, Construction, Technology, Agriculture, Healthcare, Detergents, Personal Care, Furniture, Appliances & Packaging, etc.
After the company acquired the ICI titanium dioxide business in 1998, Huntsman entered the titanium dioxide industry. In September 2013, the company acquired the high-performance additives and titanium dioxide business of Lockwood Holdings for US$1.1 billion (Sachtleben) , thus becoming the world's second largest producer of titanium dioxide and inorganic pigments.
