For Vietnam’s furniture export industry, the sharp decline in orders has seriously dragged down the country’s export growth. To make matters worse, according to data from the General Administration of Forestry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, Vietnam’s furniture exports have now reached three consecutive levels. The export value in July was only 1.41 billion US dollars, a decrease of 5.5% compared with June and a decrease of 1.6% compared with the same period in 2021. The main reason for the decline in the United States is that the force majeure occurred in the TDI production equipment in the United States last year, so a large amount of imports were made from China. With the lifting of the force majeure, the import volume also decreased accordingly.
